I own a quite powerful machine : quad core 2.6 ghz, 4go ramm velociraptor 10000 rmp drive, tv compatible adsl for internet. How does it come that after more than an hour of dowloading the world map from a satellite, only hafl of the world map can be seen ?

Currently the World Wind server is very slow again.
There is a discussion in the World Wind forum if there is a possibility to get the tiles from another server.
I am trying to keep myself up to date but until now I don't see any chance to solve this in the next time, because this is depending on NASA.
That annoys me a lot... I hope that the server will be back to full speed in the next days.

But: the tiles are cached on your computer.
So if the server will be fully available again and you use Live!Flight a lot, the tiles will be cached and you will probably not recognize if the server is slow (or down) again.
